How to Fund Your US Poker Account

Fund Bodog, Full Tilt, PokerStars, Absolute & Cake Poker from the US

One of the most frequent questions that I am asked is "How can I fund my poker account if I am from the US?"

When Neteller, Moneybookers and other payment intermediaries exited the US markets many US based players had trouble funding their online poker accounts.

Well fortunately, new and most importantly safe alternatives have stepped in to take the place of Neteller and others. Once upon a time, Paypal was the way to go when funding your poker account. When they stopped processing online payments for poker rooms many players had the same questions. That's when Neteller stepped in. Now let’s take a look at who has stepped in for Neteller:

A financial intermediary that I currently use is eWalletXpress. They are very similar to Neteller. eWalletXpress can be funded with your checking account and can also be funded with your credit account. eWalletXpress is how I fund my Bodog Poker account. It is safe, secure and easy to use. You can also use eWalletXpress to fund your Absolute Poker Account. Sign up for an eWalletXpress account.

One great method that PokerStars is using for US players is funding your account by e-check. Now just by using your bank checking account you can fund your PokerStars account. Full Tilt Poker is also experimenting with e-checks. You won't see it listed as an option when you first sign up at Full Tilt. But once you create your account you can request to fund your account by e-check through their customer service department. I haven’t used e-check at either site but players that I have referred to PokerStars and Full Tilt have used it and liked it.

Every online poker room that accepts US poker players all accept some type of money transfer.  Bodog has what they call RapidTransfer.  After signing up with Bodog, they ask that you call them and they will walk you through this option which is basically going to a retailer and transferring money to your account.

Of course, all sites accept credit cards. Many banks automatically block credit card transactions to online gaming companies but you can always try this method first. Many players from the US are still able to use credit cards to fund their account.

Many players also use pre-paid Visa and MasterCard cards that can be purchased from retailers, supermarkets and many drugstore chains.  These are often referred to as Visa Electron or MasterCard Electron cards.

If you ever have questions about the best deposit method just call the customer service number of the online poker room and they will be happy to help walk you through the best deposit method for you.

If you're looking for a place to play Texas Holdem Poker online, visit FullTilt Poker where you can play for free or in real money games.
