PokerStars Going For A Guinness World Record

PokerStars is looking to hold the largest online poker tournament ever. PokerStars has set a goal of 35,000 players for this Tournament.

Cake Poker Reindeer Games

Starting on December 18^th, Cake Poker is hosting a holiday series of value added tournaments that it is calling the Reindeer Games.  Each of the nine tournaments included in this holiday series is named after one of Santa’s reindeer and has either cash or a bonus prize added to the prize pool.  This is another one of Cake Poker’s great online poker promotions.

Everest Poker launches VIP Summit Club

The Everest Poker’s VIP Summit Club is an innovative way designed to reward all of their loyal players. The main benefit of the VIP Summit Club is that you can convert Summit Points into Cash.

The Everest Poker VIP Summit Club is very simple. It is open to all of Everests Players. You need to sign up for the VIP Summit Club. Once you have signed up your VIP Summit Club tier will be set at the beginning of each calendar month. Your Summit Club tier is based on how many Summit Points you earned in the prior month. Your tier benefits are guaranteed for one month, unless you make it to the Death Zone or Summit tier. In the Death Zone and Summit tiers, your benefits are guaranteed for three months.

Here is an example of how it works. In the month of July you earn 550 Summit Points. For the month of August you will be in “Base Camp” which means that you can take advantage of all Base Camp benefits. Then when September comes, you will be placed into a new tier based on how many Summit Points you earned in August.

You can enroll at any time. Even if you sign up on the last day of the month, all of the Summit Points you earned in your enrollment month will count toward your tier for the next month.

Enrolling in Everest Poker’s VIP Summit Club is very easy. To enroll, log into your Everest Poker account. If you don’t have an account yet click here to sign up for one. Go to the “My Account” section, and click on the “VIP button”. Just agree to the Terms and Conditions and that is it. You are officially enrolled in the VIP Summit Club. If you earn at least 500 Summit Points during the month you enroll, then you’ll start receiving your tier benefits on the first day of the following month.

All you need to do to qualify for a tier is to start earning Summit Points by playing in real money cash games and tournaments. You can only earn Summit Points by playing in real money games.

The Bodog Poker Open II

The Bodog Poker Open is Back!

Satellites for the Bodog Poker Open II are up and running with buy-ins ranging from $100-$500 for this series of eight championship events.

The first tournament is on September 28th with a major tournament happening each day after that and culminating with the Main Event on October 5th. The Main Event’s $300,000 guaranteed prize pool will make for the biggest in Bodog history.

To play the BPO II qualifiers, just open up the lobby in the Bodog Poker Room and go to “Scheduled Tournaments.” There you’ll find a tab called “BPO” - click on that to register for the Bodog Poker Open Main Event. 

Series Highlights

Lot’s of Changes Going on at Party Poker

Party Poker, one of the largest online poker rooms, recently made some pretty big changes to their poker room. Here is a rundown of the latest changes:

The Lobby
Party Poker has helped make it easier to find a table with their new-look Lobby views, Quick Search feature, and favorites area. Party Poker claims that it takes just three seconds for players to sit down and start playing at a table and start playing with their all-new Quick Seat feature. Party Poker even lets you preview the live action at a table before taking a seat.

The Table
The graphics have been improved as well as the game controls. You can now personalize your player image by uploading your own picture or choosing one from their library. Multi-tabling is now easier to manage: Players can open new tables directly from the one they are at, arrange them to suit their screen, and catch all the action with customizable alerts. The action area has been made more user-friendly, making placing bets easy.

To make placing your bet simple, all the action buttons have been consolidated into one area, and you can even choose to color code your bet buttons. They have also reworked the bet slider and introduced bet tabs to make pushing your chips in as easy as possible. Party Poker is also promising even more improvements to this area.

They have improved several other features and consolidated them into one area of the table. You can now rebuy to the table and deposit to your account as you play, and both the notes and chat features are now even easier to use. The simple tabbed navigation helps you to keep track of the action when you are playing at multiple tables.

You can now open new tables directly from the one you’re playing at: Just hit the ‘Open Table’ button.
Once you’ve got the tables you want open, the improved tiling and cascading features allow you to sort them quickly and easily into a view that works for you. Just use the icons in the table title bar to arrange your windows. You can also reset tables to their default size and set your own sorting criteria.

To make sure you don’t miss out on a winning hand as you play on multiple tables, They have added a real nice alert system. The tables will let you know when you’re holding a big hand or a big pot is up for grabs so you can be in the hands you want. You will even be alerted to your opponent’s betting patterns and to any tables you’re timing out on.
