Absolute Poker Introduces Seven Deuce Holdem Poker

August 4, 2009

Absolute Poker has added a great new twist to its no-limit holdem poker tables. It’s called Seven Deuce. Absolute Poker has added a side pot to some of its tables.

When you sit down at a Seven Deuce table you have to place a prop bet into an additional side pot. Then whoever wins a hand of poker with 7-2 as their hole cards is the winner of the side pot.

You only place the side bet when you first sit at the table and after someone wins with a 7-2, not for each hand. If you leave the table you will get your side pot money back.

7 Deuce Leaderboards

But there is more to just the side pots to Seven Deuce. Every day, Absolute Poker will keep track of the number of hands won with 7-2 as the hole cards in two different stake levels:

  • Low Stakes – ($0.10/$0.25 to $1/$2)
  • High Stakes – ($2/$4 and above)

The top 10 players with the greatest number of winning 7-2 hands in each stake level will earn a piece of $27,500.

I’ve only played a few hands at a Seven Deuce table and it definitely adds a different element to the game. You will find that there are more players trying to bluff you out of a pot with 7-2. After all it not only gets them the side pot but the chance to climb up the leaderboard.

You’ll also see plenty of players with monster hands trying to get you thinking they are holding 7-2 so they can win more of your chips.

You can spot the Seven Deuce tables pretty easily at Absolute Poker just look for the (7-2) next to the table name. Click here to visit Absolute Poker

Absolute Poker Step Tournaments

July 19, 2009

A STEP tournament is a Sit n Go Tournament that gives you a shot at earning a seat in a major land-based tournament. The buy-ins to step tournaments are very low at only $0.10 at the first STEP. The step tournaments at Absolute Poker consist of 10 steps and the tenth and final step features the grand prize. Players advance from one STEP to the next by finishing first or second in a STEP. Players who don’t finish first or second but still rank high enough will be invited to replay the STEP.

The first two winners of STEP 1 advances to STEP 2 without having to buy in. The first two winners of STEP 2 advances to STEP 3, and so on. This goes on until STEP 10 where the winner secures the final land-based tournament package. If you don’t finish first in a STEP, it’s not necessarily game over. STEP tournaments give players the opportunity to replay a STEP, depending on how they finish in a tournament. You can also buy-in to a step so that you don’t have to play through all ten of the steps.

There are two different step tournaments going on now at Absolute Poker. The $8,500 Aruba Poker Classic prize package that also gives you a chance at a $10 million bonus and 2009 Sports Legends Challenge in the Bahamas.

The 2009 Aruba Poker Classic prize package is an $8,500 Aruba Poker Classic prize package which consists of a $5,500 Main Event seat and $3,000 for travel and accommodations. Yes, you could find yourself in Aruba this October for a measly dime! But it can get even better. If you win the Aruba Poker Classic Main Event after winning STEP 1 through STEP 10 consecutively without losing or buying-in again, Absolute Poker will reward you with a $10 million bonus!

Win the Sports Legends Challenge prize package and compete against 25 sports superstars with $10 million in cash on the line this September.

You can try to earn your way into both of these great land based tournaments at Absolute Poker for only a dime! Click here to visit Absolute Poker.
