For Immediate Release

Sept. 3, 2009

It has been a monumental year for the Bodog brand and its licensees, and Bodog Europe is excited to officially announce yet another key milestone in the brand’s history: the launch of the Bodog experience to the Canadian market. Perhaps fittingly, Bodog Europe’s launch of www.Bodog.ca coincides with the 15-year anniversary of the Bodog brand, for the first time giving Canadian players the ability to cash in on some hot new promotions just in time for the remainder of the CFL season and the beginning of the NFL and NHL seasons.

Bodog Europe is lead by industry veteran and Managing Director Keith McDonnell, and is regulated and licensed by the Antigua & Barbuda Financial Services Regulatory Commission, Directorate of Offshore Gaming. McDonnell noted, “We’re extremely excited to be able to bring the unique Bodog experience to Canadian players. Canadians are passionate sports fans and are extremely savvy consumers. The Bodog brand is known world-over for its unmatched customer service and here at Bodog Europe we put the player’s experience and entertainment ahead of all else – I’m confident that we’re going to quickly earn Canadians’ loyalty and trust.”

Bodog.ca offers Canadian players safe, secure and simple access to world-class sports betting, a thriving and dynamic poker community, and a full Vegas-style casino with more than 80 web-based and downloadable games. Bodog Europe offers its players a simple, feature-rich sports betting product, offering a vast selection of sports betting opportunities across all major leagues and featuring live betting and an 80+ track Racebook. The Bodog.ca Sportsbook also has a particular focus on Canada’s most popular sports: NHL Hockey and CFL Football.

Bodog Europe – the upstart Bodog brand licensee already taking the UK by storm with its European-facing site www.Bodog.co.uk – had originally secured the rights to the world-famous “Bodog” brand for use in Europe only. However, when Bodog Europe Managing Director Keith McDonnell learned of BodogBrand.com’s willingness to entertain proposals to license the brand for use within Canada, he was quick to act, and secured the exclusive Canadian license.

“The Bodog brand is celebrating its fifteenth year anniversary this year – an absolutely remarkable pedigree and testament to its enduring values in an industry that quickly kills off mediocrity. The brand has gone through quite an evolution during that long history, and Bodog Europe is looking forward to carrying the torch forward for at least another fifteen years of world-class customer service, unbeatable promotions, and, above all – fun.”

To learn more about Bodog Europe’s Canadian site, visit http://www.bodog.ca.

Every now and then I’ll test out making a deposit by credit card at one of the poker rooms that I play at. As many of you may have experienced, credit card deposits get declined quite a bit. Well just today, I deposited $100 using my credit card and a week ago I deposited $50 using my debit card. Deposits went smoothly and needless to say, I am very happy. I have a couple of bets lined in for this weekends college football games so I needed to get some cash into my account quickly.

The main reason that I needed to add cash back into my account was that I made a withdrawal from my Bodog account by check. Made that withdrawal about a month ago and I think I had the check in about ten days. Not bad at all.

You may have seen an earlier post about how I also deposited into Bodog using a prepaid Visa card that I purchased at a local drugstore chain. If you don’t have a credit or debit card, a prepaid Visa or MasterCard is an excellent option as well.

Good Luck at the Bodog Tables!

In the past I have always used eWalletXpress to fund my Bodog account. But today I did something that I have always wanted to try out. That is to buy a Visa giftcard and use that to fund my Bodog account. So that is exactly what I tried out.

I picked up a $50 Visa card at the local supermarket. There was only a $3.95 activation fee for the card. Considering I pay a higher fee with eWalletXpress that was not bad at all. I logged into my Bodog account, went to the cashier, clicked on ‘Credit Card’ along the left hand side of deposit options then just entered the Visa card number, CVV number and the amount of the deposit which was $50. About 30 seconds later I had confirmation that my account was credited with $50.

It was very easy! If you are looking for an easy way to fund your Bodog account just pick up a gift card at any local supermarket or other store (such as CVS, Walgreens…). You can even get them at Target and Walmart so they are easy to find.

If you don’t have a Bodog account yet, then be sure to visit Bodog and sign up. When you make a deposit you will get a 10 % bonus immediately and then can earn and additional 100% bonus on top of this over the next 30 days. The bonus at Bodog is one of the easiest to get. Visit Bodog now.

Bodog Poker recently introduced its new Instant Playpoker tables. This makes it even easier to enjoy playing at Bodog. You can now play anytime and anywhere from any computer.

Bodog’s Instant Play software is perfect for players who don’t want to download software or players who may not be at their own computer with the full Bodog Poker download.

The Bodog Poker Instant Play software allows you to play at one cash game table. Multi-tabling and playing in tournaments can only be played at the full download casino.

Bodog’s Instant Play software is Mac compatible, allows you to enjoy the same great games at Bodog Poker right in your Browser.

Play on your friend’s computer

Play at Work

Play Instant Play whenever you’re at a computer with download restrictions

I think most readers are wondering if the Instant Play software is any good. Well, I’ve played on it three times so far, for about two hours and a half total. I thought it was pretty good. While I prefer the full download overall, I think it’s a nice alternative for the player who may not always have access to his or her computer. It should also get a lot of interest from players who want to play on a Mac.

I recommend exisiting Bodog Players check it out. If you’re not playing at Bodog yet, sign up and give it a try.

U.S. default judgment is now a massive $50 million

October 9, 2008 (InfoPowa News) — The acrimonious patents dispute between 1st Technology LLC and the online gambling group Bodog has entered a new phase following the failure of a Bodog appeal to the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit this week.

The matter has its roots in a patents infringement claim launched in June 2007 in a Nevada court by 1st Technology, which Bodog failed to attend amid arguments regarding the proper service of process. In the case, 1st Tech obtained a default judgement for $46,597,849 and the confiscation of Bodog domains, which forced a rebranding exercise. A subsequent case in Washington State likewise did not go well for the online gambling group.

Bodog apparently appealed the hefty default judgment in an effort to overturn the District Court of Nevada judge’s ruling, and the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit has now supported the lower court’s ruling.

The amount due to 1st Technology from Bodog now exceeds $50 million, says 1st Tech CEO Dr. Scott Lewis.

“We cannot be more pleased,” Lewis says of the failure of the appeal. “Bodog has consistently tried to circumvent the United States justice system, and disregarded the legitimacy of our claims against it. We now have the certainty we need to accelerate our seizure of any and all global assets to satisfy the judgment, and bring fairness and respect back to Bodog’s commercial dealings.”

Flachsbart & Greenspoon LLC, a Chicago law firm, won the appeal for 1st Technology in Appeal No. 2008-1132.

The failure of Bodog’s appeal follows a victory for 1st Tech in the District of Western Washington last week, where a court granted significant parts of a preliminary injunction to halt any transactions or transfers of Bodog’s trademarks.

The co-pending lawsuit in Washington seeks (among other claims) to undo conveyances among defendants Bodog Entertainment Group S.A., Bodog IP Holdings Ltd., and GK World Link Telecom S.A. Both Flachsbart & Greenspoon and Venkat Balasubramani represent 1st Technology in Case No. 08-CV-872 in the Western District of Washington.
