Mike
"The Mouth" Matusow
was born in Los Angeles in 1968. He earned his knickname
because he is always trash talking or abusing someone at the poker
tables. ESPN gave plenty of air time to his behavior during the 2005
WSOP. His melt downs at the table after a poor decision are
legendary.

Mike Matusow started off as a dealer and then eventually
decided to put to use all of those hours of studying hands
for himself. So, in the early 90’s he began to play
poker.
Matusow was arrested in September of 2003 for selling and
trafficking controlled substances. Matusow served time in
the Clark County Detention Center from September 2004 to
April 2005.
When he was released from prison,
Phil Hellmuth loaned him $5,000. |
He
turned Hellmuth’s loan into $750,000. However, at the World
Series of Poker in 2005 he lost the majority of it.
